The year 1967 is regarded as the birth of HECO-Schrauben. Under the motto "Success has many faces", the screw specialist from Schramberg is celebrating a very special anniversary. The focal point of these celebrations were the HECO employees, whose knowledge and expertise have provided the bedrock for the establishment of the company and the infrastructure for a sustainable future. 50 years ago, Ludwig Hettich and his cousin, Bruno Hettich, removed all screw production activities from the parent company, Franz Hettich KG, established in 1888. The newly founded Ludwig Hettich & Co. Schraubenfabrik opted to specialise in the production of classic wood and metal screws, as well as special screws. Today, HECO is regarded as one of Germany's major and most innovative screw manufacturers.
HECO thanks its employees
"Our employees are always one step ahead. Today, they are already developing new solutions for the requirements of tomorrow, ready to meet the demands that fastening technology will make on our products in the years ahead", enthused CEO Stefan Hettich. "Each and every one of our employees – whether in product development, production, application consulting, sales, shipping or marketing – has contributed towards that success", continued Hettich in his address to the workforce. For this reason, CEOs Stefan and Guido Hettich chose to dedicate the company anniversary to their employees – with a Family Day celebration, followed by a celebratory gala. Among other things, the gala evening offered musical and theatrical performances by members of staff, which included entertaining presentations of key milestones in HECO’s history, such as the market launch of the HECO-FIX chipboard screw in 1978, which was responsible for establishing the HECO brand on the market. One of the more emotional highlights of the evening was the presentation of the film clip "Success has many faces", which gave HECO employees the chance to have their say with personal stories and anecdotes of their time with the company.
Yet another reason to celebrate
Another reason for celebration was the completion of reconstruction work on the HECO production facilities in the summer of this year, made necessary as a result of the new strategic partnership with the Swiss company SFS, and which enabled HECO to start immediate production of SFS screws. "Thanks to the merging of our largely complementary product lines in the area of fastening technology for timber construction, we are now able to offer our customers an even more comprehensive range of products", said Stefan Hettich. The current HECO portfolio now comprises several screw ranges, which ensures their suitability for a huge variety of applications. The innovative technical design of the fastening solutions offers a broad range of application advantages, reflected in their ease of use, high load-bearing capacity and overall safety. In addition to its comprehensive range of universal, wood and concrete screws, HECO also offers a bespoke service manufacturing special screws that are custom-made to the specific requirements of industry and trade.
