Integrated Management System (IMS) at HECO

Jointly managing quality, the environment and health and safety.

At HECO, the Integrated Management System (IMS) combines the areas of quality management, environmental management and occupational health and safety within a single structure. It is based on the internationally recognised standards DIN EN ISO 9001:2015, DIN EN ISO 14001 and DIN EN ISO 45001. Every year, we undergo comprehensive audits by accredited certification bodies. Successful certification confirms that our processes and products meet the high requirements of these standards. Only then do our screws go out into the world to form lasting connections.

HECO screws stand for high safety and quality standards in fastening technology. To meet the requirements of our customers and partners, as well as legal and regulatory standards, we are constantly refining our processes. The integration of our management systems enables consistent procedures, clear lines of responsibility and structured control of business processes. The Integrated Management System (IMS) forms the basis for systematically integrating quality, environmental and occupational health and safety requirements into our day-to-day work and for continuously reviewing them.

Quality assurance

Staff in the Quality Assurance department take further random samples on the production floor and scrutinise the screws in detail, for example by means of screw-in tests, micrographs, torque tests, coating thickness measurements and specialised tests to ensure application safety. The finished screws then leave our premises for a short time to undergo surface treatment at specialist electroplating facilities.

Final inspection

On return from the surface treatment process, our screws must first pass the final inspection before they are cleared for packaging and dispatch.

The Integrated Management System is based on the standards DIN EN ISO 9001:2015, DIN EN ISO 14001 and DIN EN ISO 45001.

Why does HECO rely on an integrated management system?

The IMS supports the standardised management of processes and promotes continuous improvement in the areas of quality, environmental management and health and safety at work.

What are the benefits of an IMS?

An integrated management system creates transparency, reduces redundancies in processes and enables the coordinated implementation of requirements from different areas of management.

ISO 9001:2015 – Quality management at HECO

DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 sets out the requirements for an effective quality management system. It supports the structured planning, implementation and evaluation of processes. At HECO, quality-related processes are documented, monitored and continuously assessed throughout the entire value chain. Tests and defined quality standards help to ensure consistently high product and process quality.

ISO 14001 – Environmental management at HECO

DIN EN ISO 14001 provides the framework for our environmental management. The aim is to systematically identify environmental impacts, take environmental aspects into account in decision-making, and continuously drive improvements. Among other things, the focus is on the efficient use of resources, the reduction of emissions and the continuous development of environment-related processes. Environmental objectives and measures are regularly reviewed and evaluated.

ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and Safety at HECO

DIN EN ISO 45001 supports organisations in the systematic organisation of occupational health and safety. At HECO, the management system serves to identify risks, implement appropriate protective measures and continuously improve working conditions.
