n behalf of compamedia, the organiser of the competition, innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, and his team assessed the participating companies, based on more than 100 criteria in five categories: innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organisation, outward orientation/open innovation and innovation success. 550 small and medium-sized businesses applied, of which 300 were successful and now carry the TOP 100 seal. "This distinction is only awarded to highly innovative SMEs, which is why we are so proud of it", says Andreas Hettich, Head of Business Development at HECO. "HECO is known for continually questioning established ideas and coming up with innovative product solutions to make everyday dealings with our company easier for our customers. That's how we impressed the jury".
On June 23, science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar will congratulate HECO at a festive awards ceremony.
